A couple of weekends ago, I had some time between appointments and the weather was amazing – 20C and sunny – so I thought I would do some exploring. I had just finished lunch at OK2 (also known as OKOK) on Queen St E in Leslieville and I started to walk east and came across a gallery that I had not ever ventured into. You know how it is – you spend so much time driving from place to place that you forget to notice all points in between.
This gallery is called – pentimento Fine Art Gallery – and is located on 1164 Queen St E – just east of Jones Avenue. After taking in the current show, I had the pleasure to chat with one of the owners – John Rait. John is a longtime Leslieville resident who had owned a home around the corner from the gallery, ended up selling and then buying this storefront on Queen East. Its a fantastic space with big bright windows – letting in tons of light to view the amazing collection on exhibit that day.
If you are in the neighbourhood, drop in and see John and tell him I sent you!

You are quite right Sam. It is a delightful gallery and John is great.
I purchased a small sculpture from him a few months back.
